Tiger Lily

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to the rescue mission organization All ‘Bout Cats in providing me the opportunity to adopt the most wonderful and adorable 1-1/2 year old Maine Coon kitty named Tiger Lily. My new little girl and I became a family on Saturday 4/11/15.

I have been a cat Mom for most of my life and my last little girl, Baby Fluff passed away on 3/25/15. She was almost 20 years old. It was one of the most difficult decisions that I ever had to make in my life but knew that as a cat Mom it was one that was best for her as she had late stage kidney failure. I told myself that I would never have any more cats because it would hurt too much when they had to leave.

The day I put my Baby Fluff to sleep, I dealt with the grief, but felt a sense of relief knowing in my heart that I had done the right thing for her as I didn’t want her to suffer. Later on that day and much to my surprise I started searching websites to adopt a cat and that is when I came across a photo of Tiger Lily. I knew that I was waiting for that “ahhhhhh” moment and when I looked her beautiful little face, I knew she was the perfect kitty for me! I reached out to Val Laking, Tiger Lily’s foster mom to inquire about her. Val responded right away but then I became hesitant and decided to wait until I was sure I was ready to bring another little baby into my life.

During the next week I became increasingly aware that my home felt very empty without the love and affection that I needed to give and receive from a little kitty that deserved a forever home and so I made arrangements to meet Tiger Lily later on that day. She was a petite little girl and as cute as a button with a lovely personality and as they say, the rest is history.

Tiger Lily is now the princess of the house as she deserves to be. She has a mountain of toys and has found every little nook and cranny that she has claimed as her own. She particularly loves the soft little toys that she snuggles up next to her and the sunny chair on the porch. When she looks at me with her sweet little face, she blinks her eyes with contentment and I just melt! That’s what it’s all about!

I adopted Tiger Lily with a clean bill of health and up to date shots. She is my new little love and I couldn’t be happier! And as a side benefit, Val and I have become fast friends which has been yet another bonus! We swap kitty pictures all the time and she will continue to be a part of Tiger Lily’s life. Thank you Val and All ‘Bout Cats for making my life complete again!
